Optimization of plastic waste integration in cement bricks

Abstract Implementing plastic waste in construction materials is a sustainable disposal method to overcome pollution. The current study aims optimize the integration of cement bricks regarding their thermomechanical properties order develop an eco-friendly building material. Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) partially substituted with different ratios (0, 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, 20%). type that achieved better performance further replaced other brick components; sand coarse aggregates determine optimum replacement scenario best design mix. Laboratory experiments have been carried out measure compressive strength, indirect tensile bulk density, thermal conductivity new composites. measured results revealed for samples HDPE than PET. A boost strength was noticed obtaining limited amount (up 7.5%) HDPE. However, reduction tested mechanical occurs higher substitution levels. With respect they decreased increase waste. behavior highest resistance were obtained by partial 7.5% 20% respectively. represent good contribution energy conservation, management sustainability.
